Mary Whittemore has served as executive assistant to Dr. George W. Wharton for over 23 years. She first entered the business world while her children were young and worked her way up from PBX Operator for a glass company to secretary and administrative assistant to a mayor in city government and managers and CEOs/presidents in various types of business before entering the medical field. These businesses included a large manufacturing business, an insurance company and a financial institute. She also had her own business for a number of years as a fashion consultant for a high-end clothing business for women. Her varied experience, skills, knowledge and personality made her a perfect fit for the position with Dr. Wharton.
When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, especially going to see children (2), step-children (6), grandchildren (10) and great-grandchildren (5). She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Terry, who recently retired, and their three dachshunds, Felix, Oscar and Lexie.
